The Best Friends Approach to Alzheimer's Care: Developing the "Knack" of Quality Care

This module was developed by David Troxel and review the "Best Friends Approach to Alzheimer's Care" book written by Virginia Bell and David Troxel. The course will provide a positive, practical outlook of the "Best Friends" philosophy of dementia care that stresses strengths vs. losses, creative activities and life story work. Treating the person like a "Best Friend" creates an environment that fosters trust, adds happiness and comfort, reduces challenging behaviors and lead to feelings of success for all involved.
